The gap to the record
Getting back to $1.20 from here would take a 31.0× move — that multiple, not the percentage, is the honest way to read a drawdown. The figure above updates every hour as our price snapshot refreshes; the record itself is an editorial fact recorded from CoinGecko.

What moves Pyth Network's price
- Unlock cliffs: four dated unlocks of roughly 21% of supply each dominate the chart — the token printed a fresh all-time low in June 2026, a month after the third cliff, and the final one comes in May 2027.
- Pyth Pro and DAO revenue: the September 2025 institutional data-subscription product targets the ~$50B market-data industry, with subscription revenue intended to accrue to the Pyth DAO — the token's clearest path to a fundamental revenue link (early figures are company-stated).
- Government data partnerships: the US Commerce Department chose Pyth (alongside Chainlink) in August 2025 to publish official GDP data on-chain — the announcement moved PYTH roughly 70% in a day, and any expansion of official-data publishing is a recurring catalyst.
- Oracle market share: Chainlink secures roughly two-thirds of oracle-secured value versus Pyth's mid-single digits; Pyth's edge is latency and derivatives protocols, and share shifts between the two models are the long-term competitive story.
- Solana ecosystem beta: Pyth launched on Solana in 2021 and its token, staking, and governance live there, so PYTH trades with Solana sentiment.
- Reliability history, stated plainly: in September 2021 Pyth's BTC feed briefly printed around $5,400 (versus ~$43,000) after publisher decimal errors, triggering liquidations on a Solana derivatives protocol — the formative incident behind its aggregation and staking safeguards. Oracle Integrity Staking (delegating PYTH to publisher pools, slashing capped at 5%) has recorded no slashing events to date.

About Pyth Network
Pyth launched on Solana in August 2021, incubated inside Jump Crypto; the core team spun out as Douro Labs in 2023, and the PYTH token launched in November 2023 via a retrospective airdrop to about 90,000 users. Its design inverts the traditional oracle: instead of third-party node operators fetching prices, the institutions that make the prices — exchanges and trading firms, 125+ of them — sign and publish their own data, which applications pull on-chain only when needed.
That pull model made Pyth the default oracle for high-frequency DeFi (perpetuals, options) across 100+ chains, and the 2025 pivot adds a second business: selling the same institutional-grade data off-chain by subscription. Whether that revenue meaningfully reaches the DAO — and whether the last unlock cliff clears in May 2027 — are the two questions that frame the token.
PYTH tokenomics
Allocation: 52% ecosystem growth, 22% publisher rewards, 10% private sales, 10% protocol development, 6% community and launch — 15% circulating at launch, the rest on the four-cliff schedule. Oracle Integrity Staking lets holders delegate PYTH to publisher pools, sharing rewards and slashing risk (capped at 5%, DAO-adjustable), with roughly a billion PYTH staked across ~120 pools.
How to buy Pyth Network
PYTH trades on Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX, HTX, and most major venues. Staking (Oracle Integrity Staking) runs on Solana via the Pyth staking dashboard.
Pyth Network FAQ
How is Pyth different from Chainlink?
Pyth is first-party: exchanges and market makers publish their own prices, sub-second, pulled on demand — strongest in derivatives. Chainlink aggregates through third-party node operators and secures far more total value. They increasingly coexist, including inside the same US government data program.
What is a first-party oracle?
One where the data owner itself — an exchange or trading firm — signs and publishes its prices directly, rather than independent nodes relaying data they fetched elsewhere. The pitch is provenance and speed; the trade-off is trusting the publishers, managed by aggregation across 125+ of them and staking penalties.
What does staking PYTH do?
Oracle Integrity Staking backs data quality: you delegate to specific publisher pools, earn rewards, and share slashing risk (capped at 5%) if that publisher misprices. Staked PYTH also votes in the DAO.
When do PYTH tokens unlock?
Four cliffs of ~2.1 billion at months 6, 18, 30, and 42 from the November 2023 launch — May 2024, May 2025, May 2026 (already executed), and finally May 2027. After that the schedule is done.
What is Pyth Pro?
A subscription service launched September 2025 selling institutional cross-asset market data to traditional finance, aimed at the ~$50B market-data industry, with revenue intended to flow to the Pyth DAO.
