Over the past 30 days GRAM has moved −16.65% and over the past 90 days +2.82%.

Circulating supply is 2,737,652,709 GRAM , with no fixed maximum supply. About 2.7 billion GRAM circulate out of roughly 5.2 billion total, with no hard cap. The initial 5 billion were distributed by proof-of-work 'giver' contracts before the network moved to proof-of-stake — a mechanism critics say concentrated supply among early miners. Validators currently earn about 0.6% annual inflation, which the 2026 roadmap's upgrades are expected to lift toward 3.6%.

The gap to the record

Getting back to $8.25 from here would take a 5.9× move — that multiple, not the percentage, is the honest way to read a drawdown. The figure above updates every hour as our price snapshot refreshes; the record itself is an editorial fact recorded from CoinGecko.

What moves Gram's price

  • Telegram integration depth: since January 2025 TON is the exclusive blockchain for Telegram Mini Apps, and Telegram's wallet, username auctions (Fragment), and channel ad-revenue payouts all settle in the token — adoption inside the app is the core demand story.
  • Pavel Durov's legal situation: his August 24, 2024 arrest in France knocked the token roughly 20% in days (from about $6.80 to $5.20, erasing ~$2.7B of market cap), and the case remains a live single-person risk for a Telegram-dependent asset.
  • Regulatory history, stated plainly: the SEC killed Telegram's original Gram in June 2020 — Telegram returned about $1.22 billion to investors and paid an $18.5 million penalty — and the June 2026 decision to reclaim the Gram name is an explicit bet that the US regulatory climate has changed.
  • Mini-app and gaming cycles: the 2024 tap-to-earn boom (Notcoin, Hamster Kombat) drove the token to its $8.24 all-time high in June 2024; activity waves through Telegram games and mini-apps remain its sharpest short-term catalyst.
  • Supply dynamics: validator inflation is slated to rise from about 0.6% toward 3.6% a year under the 2026 roadmap, and the early giver-mining distribution left a concentration overhang that surfaces in criticism whenever large wallets move.
  • Rename mechanics and confusion: the June 2026 Toncoin-to-Gram switch was a pure relabel — no swap, no new contract — but ticker-migration periods historically bring mispriced listings and a wave of fake 'migration' scams that can dent sentiment.

About Gram

The token began as Gram, the currency of Telegram's blockchain project, which raised about $1.7 billion privately in 2018. The SEC halted the offering in October 2019 as an unregistered securities sale; Telegram abandoned the project in May 2020 and settled in June 2020, returning roughly $1.22 billion to investors and paying an $18.5 million penalty. Independent developers then revived the open-source code as The Open Network in 2021 and named its token Toncoin — deliberately shedding the name at the center of the lawsuit.

Telegram re-embraced the chain it could no longer own: Fragment auctions (December 2022), the in-app TON Space wallet (2023), ad-revenue sharing paid in Toncoin (March 2024), and exclusive Mini App status (January 2025). Durov's August 2024 arrest in France cut the price about 20% in days. In June 2026 the circle closed — a TON Vote referendum proposed by Telegram passed with 81.22% support, and on June 15, 2026 Toncoin became Gram, reclaiming the original name. Note that the $8.24 all-time high (June 2024, per CoinMarketCap) was set under the old TON ticker, before the rename.

GRAM tokenomics

GRAM is The Open Network's gas, staking, and payment token: validators stake it to secure the proof-of-stake chain and earn ~0.6% annual inflation (rising toward 3.6% under the 2026 roadmap), fees run around a tenth of a cent, and Telegram services — ads, Fragment, mini-app purchases — price in it. There was no public sale of the current token: the initial 5 billion were mined from proof-of-work giver contracts after the 2021 community relaunch, a distribution that drew lasting concentration criticism. The June 2026 rename changed nothing on-chain — same contract, same balances, 1 TON = 1 GRAM.

How to buy Gram

GRAM trades on major exchanges including Binance, Bybit, OKX, and KuCoin, which switched tickers from TON to GRAM around June 15, 2026 (US availability has historically been narrower than for other top-25 coins). Inside Telegram, the built-in Wallet and self-custody TON Space hold it natively. Existing TON balances became GRAM automatically — any site asking you to 'convert' or 'migrate' tokens is a scam.

Gram FAQ

Why was Toncoin renamed to Gram?

To reclaim the token's original 2018 name from Telegram's whitepaper. A TON Vote referendum proposed by Telegram passed June 8, 2026 with 81.22% support, and the rename took effect June 15, 2026. Pavel Durov framed it as 'a return to roots' now that the regulatory pressure that forced the name's abandonment has eased.

Do I need to swap my TON tokens for GRAM?

No. The rename changed only the name, ticker, and icon — same blockchain, same contract, same balances, 1:1. Any website, bot, or message asking you to 'claim GRAM' or 'migrate' your TON is a scam.

Is this the same Gram the SEC blocked?

Same name, different token. Telegram's original Gram never launched: the SEC halted its $1.7 billion offering in 2019 and Telegram settled in June 2020, returning about $1.22 billion to investors. Today's GRAM is the community-built Toncoin, renamed in 2026.

What was Gram's all-time high?

About $8.24 in June 2024 (per CoinMarketCap), during the Telegram tap-to-earn gaming boom — set under the old TON ticker, two years before the rename. The hourly-refreshed price at the top of this page shows where it trades now.

How did Pavel Durov's arrest affect the price?

Toncoin fell roughly 20% in the days after his August 24, 2024 arrest in France, dropping from about $6.80 to $5.20 and erasing around $2.7 billion in market value. The episode showed how tightly the token's fortunes track Telegram and its founder, whose French case remains open.
