XEC price context
eCash's all-time high is $0.000380, reached on September 4, 2021. At today's price of $0.000007, XEC trades 98.2% below that peak. Its lowest recorded price was $0.000005 on July 1, 2026.
Over the past 30 days XEC has moved +32.23% and over the past 90 days −3.88%.
Circulating supply is 20,063,920,297,580 XEC , against a maximum supply of 21,000,000,000,000 XEC. The 21 trillion XEC cap is Bitcoin's 21 million multiplied by the July 2021 1:1,000,000 redenomination — an accounting change on the same chain, which is why the unit price is a fraction of a cent.

The gap to the record
Getting back to $0.00038001 from here would take a 55.4× move — that multiple, not the percentage, is the honest way to read a drawdown. The figure above updates every hour as our price snapshot refreshes; the record itself is an editorial fact recorded from CoinGecko.
All-time low
eCash's recorded all-time low is $0.00000481, on July 1, 2026 (CoinGecko). From that low to today's price is the other end of the same story — aggregators differ on launch-era data, so we name the source we cite.

What moves eCash's price
- The defining economic feature — and the defining criticism: by protocol rule, miners keep only 58% of each block reward. 32% goes to a development fund and 10% to Avalanche stakers (since the 15 November 2023 upgrade; the chain was born in 2020 with an 8% development allocation that was later quadrupled). Supporters call it sustainable funding; the 2020 record shows the wider Bitcoin Cash community treated protocol-level reward diversion as disqualifying — Roger Ver called the original plan a 'Soviet style central planner's dream come true'.
- The fork lineage: eCash shares Bitcoin's ledger through the August 2017 Bitcoin Cash fork and the 15 November 2020 BCH/BCHA split over the Infrastructure Funding Plan, when Bitcoin Cash Node, Bitcoin Unlimited and most exchanges (Coinbase, Kraken and BitGo backed the other side) rejected Bitcoin ABC's 8% coinbase diversion. Every BCH holder at the split received the ABC chain's coin — the holder base began as a passive airdrop, not buyers.
- The Avalanche consensus layer (not the AVAX chain — a protocol layered on eCash's proof of work): post-consensus went live on 14 September 2022, adding one-block finality and 51%-attack resistance; pre-consensus, finalizing transactions in about three seconds, activated with the 15 November 2025 upgrade. Staking rewards (10% of each block) require at least 100 million XEC per UTXO, aged about two weeks, on an always-on node.
- Usage is objectively thin, and the price reflects it: the network recorded 4,153 transactions in 24 hours in mid-July 2026 — about 34 per block — against a market capitalisation near $131 million (Blockchair). eCash's marketing emphasizes capacity targets rather than current throughput.
- Exchange concentration and delisting pressure: Upbit's Korean-won pair is the largest single market, with Binance the other major venue. Bitfinex delisted XEC in November 2023. Coinbase and Kraken — which backed the anti-IFP side in 2020 — do not list it.
- The drawdown, stated plainly: XEC trades about 98.3% below its September 2021 all-time high (CoinGecko), and both major trackers record its all-time low on 1 July 2026 — two weeks old as of this page's research date.

About eCash
Amaury Séchet, a former Facebook engineer, was the lead developer of Bitcoin ABC — the first full-node implementation of Bitcoin Cash, unveiled in 2017. In 2020, ABC championed protocol-level developer funding: the Infrastructure Funding Plan, iterated from a miner proposal into an 8% coinbase diversion paid to an account controlled by the ABC team. The rest of the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem — rival node teams, miners, exchanges — rejected it, and on 15 November 2020 the network split: Bitcoin Cash Node continued as BCH, while ABC's chain became the minority coin BCHA, ending Séchet's role in BCH development. On 1 July 2021 BCHA rebranded to eCash with a 1:1,000,000 redenomination — the same blockchain, restated in smaller units. An official eCash interview styles Séchet the project's 'Benevolent Dictator', which is also a fair summary of the governance criticism.
Since the rebrand the roadmap has centred on bolting Avalanche consensus onto proof of work: post-consensus for finality and 51%-attack defence (September 2022), staking rewards for validators (November 2023, alongside the development fund's increase from 8% to 32% of block rewards), and pre-consensus with roughly three-second finality (November 2025), on a six-month upgrade cadence. The chain inherits Bitcoin's issuance exactly — the April 2024 halving cut the block subsidy to 3.125 million XEC, putting inflation under 1% — but its usage remains a few thousand transactions a day, and the coin printed a fresh all-time low on 1 July 2026.
XEC tokenomics
eCash mirrors Bitcoin's monetary policy restated in smaller units: a 21 trillion XEC maximum supply (Bitcoin's 21 million times the 1:1,000,000 redenomination), about 20.06 trillion — over 95% — already mined, SHA-256 proof of work, ten-minute blocks and Bitcoin's halving schedule, most recently April 2024 (subsidy to 3.125M XEC per block, annual inflation about 0.83%). What Bitcoin does not have is the coinbase split: since the 15 November 2023 upgrade, 58% of each block reward goes to the miner, 32% to the development fund that finances the protocol's builders, and 10% to a single Avalanche staker per block, selected with probability weighted by stake. Staking requires at least 100 million XEC per UTXO, aged roughly two weeks, on a fully validating node — there is no wallet-only staking, and no burn mechanism exists.
How to buy eCash
XEC trades on Upbit (its largest market, in Korean won), Binance (XEC/USDT since the August 2021 rebrand completion), Bithumb, HTX, Gate and CoinEx, among roughly 37 tracked venues. Coinbase and Kraken do not list it. This page carries no affiliate links and recommends no venue.
eCash FAQ
Is eCash the same as Bitcoin Cash?
No. It split from Bitcoin Cash on 15 November 2020, when Bitcoin ABC's chain enforced an 8% coinbase development fund that the rest of the BCH ecosystem rejected. BCH continued under Bitcoin Cash Node; ABC's minority chain became BCHA, which rebranded to eCash in July 2021.
What was the 2020 split actually about?
Bitcoin ABC's Infrastructure Funding Plan: 8% of every block reward redirected to development, initially to an account controlled by the ABC team. Rival node implementations, miners and exchanges — Coinbase, Kraken and BitGo among them — sided against protocol-level reward diversion, and ABC forked away as the minority chain.
What is the 1:1,000,000 redenomination?
On 1 July 2021, 1 BCHA became 1,000,000 XEC — purely a display and accounting change on the same blockchain, moving from eight decimal places to two. It is why the unit price is a tiny fraction of a cent: the market cap is spread across more than 20 trillion units.
Does eCash tax miners?
By protocol rule, miners keep 58% of each block reward; 32% goes to the development fund and 10% to Avalanche stakers (since November 2023 — the chain launched in 2020 with an 8% development allocation). The project frames it as sustainable funding; critics have called it a miner tax since 2020, and it is the reason the chain exists as a separate coin at all.
What is Avalanche on eCash?
Not the AVAX blockchain — a consensus protocol layered on top of eCash's proof of work. Post-consensus (live September 2022) adds one-block finality and 51%-attack resistance; pre-consensus (live November 2025) finalizes transactions in about three seconds before block confirmation.
Why is the unit price so small?
Because of the 1:1,000,000 redenomination: a market cap near $131 million spread across roughly 20 trillion circulating units prices each XEC around $0.0000065. The redenomination changed no economics — only the display unit.
