The gap to the record
Getting back to $0.0088 from here would take a 4.2× move — that multiple, not the percentage, is the honest way to read a drawdown. The figure above updates every hour as our price snapshot refreshes; the record itself is an editorial fact recorded from CoinGecko - Pump.fun (PUMP).

What moves Pump.fun's price
- Buybacks and burns: platform revenue has funded PUMP buybacks since launch, culminating in the April 29, 2026 burn of ~$370 million of repurchased tokens (about 36% of circulating supply) and an irrevocable smart contract locking 50% of net revenue into buyback-and-burn for twelve months. The mechanism's limits are also part of the record: the token made its all-time low in June 2026, after most of that buying.
- Platform revenue trend: Pump.fun was the first Solana application to pass $1 billion in lifetime revenue, but the trajectory turned — roughly $971 million of gross revenue in 2025 versus an annualized ~$320 million pace in early 2026. Because buyback firepower is a fixed share of fees, the token is effectively a bet on that revenue line.
- Launchpad competition: rival LetsBonk.fun overtook Pump.fun in July–August 2025, at its peak taking about two-thirds of new Solana memecoin launches, before Pump.fun regained the lead on volume and users. Market-share swings between launchpads move the token in both directions.
- Litigation: a January 2025 class action alleging Pump.fun sold unregistered securities was consolidated in July 2025 into an amended RICO case that also names Solana Foundation, Solana Labs, and Jito Labs, and alleges the platform amounted to illegal gambling. Defendants cite the SEC's February 2025 staff view that memecoins are not securities; the case was unresolved as of July 2026.
- Solana and the memecoin cycle: essentially all fees come from Solana memecoin trading — Pump.fun alone was about 36% of all Solana application revenue in Q1 2026 — so the token is leveraged to a single chain and a single narrative. The team has said an Ethereum expansion is planned.
- Supply overhangs: the airdrop promised at the ICO was delayed indefinitely (the token fell about 15% on that news), and the team and community allocations — 44% of original supply between them — have yet to fully enter circulation.
“platform revenue has funded PUMP buybacks since launch, culminating in the April 29, 2026 burn of ~$370 million of repurchased tokens (about 36% of circulating supply) and an irrevocable smart contract locking 50% of net revenue into buyback-and-burn for twelve months.”
About Pump.fun
Pump.fun launched in January 2024, built by Alon Cohen, Noah Tweedale, and Dylan Kerler under London-registered Baton Corporation. It made token creation a one-click act: coins launch on a bonding curve and graduate to open trading — originally on Raydium, since March 2025 on its own PumpSwap AMM. The outcome distribution is brutal and documented: the vast majority of launched tokens never graduate, Dune Analytics found only 0.4% of users ever cleared $10,000 in profit, and messages cited in the consolidated lawsuit show a co-founder acknowledging users face 'the really, really low odds that come with gambling.'
The platform's history includes a November 2024 suspension of its livestreaming feature after users broadcast self-harm threats and violence tied to token pumps; it relaunched in April 2025 under a written moderation policy. The UK's FCA published a warning in December 2024 and Pump.fun blocked UK users. The PUMP token arrived in July 2025 via the third-largest ICO in crypto history — $500 million in twelve minutes at $0.004, about $1.2 billion including the private sale — then fell below the ICO price within weeks, peaked near $0.0088 that September, and ground down to its all-time low in June 2026, roughly 71% below the ICO price.
PUMP tokenomics
Of the original 1 trillion supply: 33% was sold (18% private, 12.5% public ICO at $0.004), 24% is reserved for community and ecosystem (including the still-undelivered airdrop), 20% team, 13% existing investors, and about 10% across foundation, ecosystem fund, livestreaming, and liquidity. PUMP confers no governance or revenue share; value accrual runs entirely through buyback-and-burn — roughly $370 million of repurchased tokens (36% of circulating supply) were burned in April 2026, and 50% of net platform revenue is contractually committed to further buybacks through April 2027.
How to buy Pump.fun
PUMP listed at its July 2025 ICO on Bybit, Kraken, KuCoin, Bitget, Gate, and MEXC, and now also trades on Binance (listed with a Seed Tag), Coinbase, and OKX, as well as Solana DEXs including Pump.fun's own PumpSwap. Note that the Pump.fun platform itself has blocked UK users since the FCA's December 2024 warning.

What was the PUMP ICO?
On July 12, 2025, Pump.fun sold 12.5% of supply at $0.004, raising $500 million in twelve minutes — about $1.2 billion including the private sale, the third-largest ICO in crypto history. The token has spent most of its life below that ICO price, bottoming roughly 71% under it in June 2026.
Does PUMP burn supply?
Yes, at unusual scale. In April 2026 the platform burned all previously bought-back tokens — about $370 million worth, 36% of circulating supply — and locked 50% of net revenue into a twelve-month programmatic buyback-and-burn contract. The buybacks have not prevented new lows: the all-time low came in June 2026.
Is Pump.fun being sued?
Yes. A January 2025 class action alleging sales of unregistered securities was consolidated into an amended RICO case that names the founders and Solana ecosystem entities and alleges illegal gambling. Defendants point to the SEC's 2025 staff statement that memecoins are not securities. The litigation was unresolved as of July 2026.
Has the PUMP airdrop happened?
No. An airdrop was promised alongside the July 2025 ICO, then delayed indefinitely — the token fell about 15% on that announcement — and it had still not been distributed as of July 2026. The 24% community allocation it would draw from remains reserved.
What does the PUMP token actually do?
Very little directly: it carries no governance rights and no claim on fees. Its value proposition is exposure to Pump.fun's revenue via buyback-and-burn, which makes the platform's fee trend — about $971 million in 2025, annualizing near $320 million in early 2026 — the number that matters.
